CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN SEEFELD
Winter sports in the Olympiaregion in Tyrol, Austria
The 5 villages that make up the Olympiaregion Seefeld have, for many years now, been providing cross-country skiing facilities and conditions that are unparalleled anywhere else in Europe. Our network of trails offers a veritable haven for all cross-country skiing enthusiasts.
With 279 kilometres of immaculately groomed trails covering all levels of difficulty, both beginners and experts alike can enjoy the sport to the full. With 154.3 km of trails for classic-style skiing and 124.7 km for skating-style skiing, the ratio between the two types of trails is more or less equal and many sections have both types of trail running parallel to one another – and all set against the stunning mountain panorama of the sun-blessed Seefeld high plateau.
In addition, the Olympiaregion has several special trails including floodlit trails for evening skiing, dog-friendly trails and adaptive trails for skiers with physical disabilities. A detailed map including descriptions of all the cross-country skiing trails is available at our reception.
Floodlit cross-country skiing trails
A 3 km section of trail between Seefeld and Mösern, floodlit between 5 pm and 8.00 pm from Monday to Friday, means that you can enjoy a cross-country ski run long after the sun has gone down.
Every Tuesday, the night trail in Seefeld is in operation until 10 p.m.. On all other days the trails are closed at 4.30 p.m. (exception night trail) to ensure the best possible trail quality on the following day.
Adaptive cross-country skiing trails
The Olympiaregion Seefeld fulfils all the criteria to enable wheelchair users / adaptive cross-country skiers to enjoy this winter sport to the full.
For wheelchair users looking for cross country ski vacations in Tirol, Seefeld Olympic Region is the perfect choice: the quality-inspected 44.5-kilometre trail network includes terrain suitable for every level of adaptive skier.
Gasse Leutasch XC Ski Track is fully accessible by grade and is very suitable for novices as there are no big ups and downs. You can access the track directly from the car park without having to cross a street.
See the mountains in an entirely new light with night skiing while getting in a few more runs on the Seefeld Night XC Ski Track: the 3-kilometre long track is illuminated from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Mondays to Fridays.
Nordic sit-ski rentals are available from Alois Praschberger who will deliver the ski to your accommodation. (We ask for early booking)
Dog-friendly cross-country skiing trails
In Seefeld, dog owners can find a pooch-friendly trail specially created to enable our four-legged friends to accompany their owners on a cross-country ski run. The 1.9 km-long section can be found on the A2 Lehner trail, which is suitable for both classic and skate techniques.
The Seefeld Olympics Region is considered the Mecca for cross-country skiing in Europe, with 279 km of prepared slopes at all levels of difficulty. The region has received numerous awards for its focus on cross-country development, and currently sits in first place for 232 nominated cross-country skiing destinations.
